This partnership started with a change, and boldly went in search of more. Sotheby’s contacted Gangverk after a change in management with the desire to completely reform its digital infrastructure. They knew this would be a critical investment toward maintaining a leading position in their globally competitive field. Committing to a project like this was a massive undertaking at the time, but it has paid off in the multiples. From keeping Sotheby’s operating during the pandemic to keeping them competitive on the world stage, digital transformation has proved worth pursuing. 7+ years of collaboration have seen improved auction management, auction experience, online interaction, authentication, accessibility, tracking, marketplace systems, direct sales, and many other systems and services. The work didn’t start with much, but it has grown into a well-oiled engine that will continue to push the limits of the online auction experience.
